OMSK, January 30 A resident of the Omsk region was sentenced to 9 years in a maximum security colony for murdering his wife with an ax, whose body he dismembered and burned, the regional department of the RF IC reported. .
In June, a woman contacted the Tara police and reported the disappearance of her 36-year-old sister, a mother of two children. According to her, the woman left home at three in the morning after a quarrel with her husband. When police examined the house, they found washed-out traces of blood on the sofa. Their 33-year-old husband Vladimir Kochkin could not clearly explain their origin. Subsequently, he confessed to the murder and showed the place where the remains of the deceased were found, the Investigative Committee reported in November.
It turned out that Kochkin hit his wife on the head with an ax during a quarrel, took the body by car to the forest 3 kilometers from Tara, dismembered it and doused it with fuel liquid, burned.
«During the investigation, the attacker was chosen as a preventive measure in the form of detention… The court sentenced the defendant to 9 years of imprisonment in a maximum security colony,» the release says.
A source in the law enforcement agencies said that Kochkin claimed that his wife treated his 16-year-old daughter poorly and was constantly jealous of him, having found correspondence with another on his phone. According to the defendant, that day the wife was drunk, they quarreled because the woman scolded her daughter, and then struck her husband several times on the back with a poker. He had a 10-month-old son in his arms. He put the child to bed, returned and hit his wife with an ax.
Kochkin buried the body, but then decided that this was not enough and set it on fire. “I came to the place again, dug a hole, the body was already burnt out. He put the body in the hole, began to cover it with earth. He realized that they would find it this way, began to dig it up, cut the body into pieces with a shovel. Then he loaded the body parts into bags and came with them home,» the source said.
Returning home, he took the bags, went into the forest and buried two bags there, and buried two more bags in another place. Then, hiding his involvement in the murder, he took an active part in the search for his wife and even went with her mother to a fortune teller.
The Kochkin children have been placed under guardianship.
