PARIS, January 30 Public administration employees in France will be able to the desire to switch to a four-day working week while maintaining the number of working hours, said Prime Minister Gabriel Attal.
“I will ask my ministers to introduce a four-day working week as an experiment without reducing the number of working hours. I want the state to set an example in terms of organizing work,” he said in an address to parliament, which was broadcast on the website of the National Assembly.
According to the head of the Cabinet, the experiment will be carried out in all ministries.
Currently, according to official data, civil servants in France work 39 hours a week.
As Provence recalls, Attal had already conducted a similar experiment when he served as Minister Delegate for Public Accounts. Employees were expected to arrive earlier and leave later, but worked one day less. However, then, out of 200 employees, only three liked this measure.
According to the authorities, this measure will allow ministries to more easily select personnel.
