VORONEZH, February 1 The Sovetsky District Court of Voronezh took into custody a local resident named Amphetamines, convicted of selling mephedrone.
According to the court, Amphetaminov M.E., his accomplice Chichin and “other unidentified persons” at the end of January delivered mephedrone packaged in at least five packages with a total weight of 4.22 grams to the Sovetsky district of Voronezh and equipped with at least five stashes . However, the planned trade did not work out, since Chichin and Amphetaminov were detained by police officers. A criminal case was initiated under the article on the sale of drugs on a large scale.
«Suspect Amphetaminov M.E. does not work anywhere, does not have a permanent and legal source of income, thereby he can continue to engage in criminal activities <…> or otherwise interfere with the criminal proceedings. Therefore, remaining on freedom, may escape,” the Sovetsky District Court said in a statement. It is also noted that Amphetamines refused to testify. The police went to court with a petition to place him in a pre-trial detention center, which was ultimately granted.
The sanction of the article under which Amphetamines is charged provides for from 10 to 20 years in prison.
