The world premiere of the Mini Aceman subcompact crossover will take place in April, it will be offered only with electric powertrains and will take its place in the Mini lineup between the Cooper hatchback and the Countryman compact crossover.
The British brand Mini, part of the BMW Group, announced the junior Aceman crossover in 2022 with a concept of the same name. Last year, camouflaged pre-production Aceman prototypes were spotted more than once on public roads in different parts of the world, and today the Mini press service published a dose of official photos and revealed some details. The pictures were taken during development tests of the crossover in the desert, where the temperature rose to 50 °C — these are very harsh conditions for the battery thermal management system.

The overall length of the production Mini Aceman will be 4075 mm, width — 1754 mm, height — 1495 mm. For comparison, let’s say that the new generation Mini Cooper three-door hatchback, which debuted last fall, has a length of 3858 mm, and the third generation Countryman crossover is 4433 mm. In terms of platform and technology, the Mini Aceman will be maximally unified with the new Cooper, but at the same time it will be noticeably distanced from it in terms of design: the Aceman received the most angular design in the Mini range with polygonal headlights and squared wheel arches.
The press release states that the Aceman will be equipped with a battery with a capacity of 54.2 kWh — the same as that of the Cooper SE hatchback, and that the Aceman's interior is designed for five — that's all the official details for now.< /p> 1/3

Meanwhile, the British magazine Autocar knows and tells much more: the crossover, like its sister hatchback, will also receive a smaller battery with a capacity of 40.7 kWh. Electric motors with a capacity of 184 hp will also be common. or 218 hp The crossover, like the hatchback, can only have one engine on the front axle; all-wheel drive is not announced for these models. The sports version of the John Cooper Works (JCW) of the crossover will be cooked up according to the same recipe as the hatchback, that is, without additional power, but with aggressive decor and special chassis settings.
If for a new one In addition to electric power plants, the Mini Cooper also announced “hydrocarbon” ones, while the Aceman will only be electric. Compared to the five-door version of the Mini Cooper, which has not yet been presented, but which, according to Autocar, will certainly be, the crossover's interior will be noticeably more spacious and practical, but the front panel with a round touch screen in the center will be about the same as that of the hatchback .

British colleagues also know the crossover premiere date — April 24, it will take place as part of the Beijing Motor Show. The Aceman will go on sale towards the end of this year and, according to BMW Group marketers, will become the best-selling Mini model. The Aceman will be produced in the same place as the new Mini Cooper — in China at a joint venture between the BMW Group and Great Wall Motor (GWM), it is called Spotlight Automotive, its plant is located in the Zhangjiagang district of Suzhou, Jiangsu province. In 2026, electric versions of the Mini Cooper and the Aceman crossover will receive British registration at the historic Mini plant in Oxford, which is due for a large-scale reconstruction in the near future. The base Mini Aceman will cost around £32,000, according to Autocar.
