MOSCOW, January 30 LDPR leader and presidential candidate Leonid Slutsky sent a letter to Russian Presidential Advisor for Culture Vladimir Tolstoy with a request to work out a mechanism for depriving the title of People's Artist for a number of administrative offenses, the document is available.
“I ask you, dear Vladimir Ilyich, to consider the possibility of amending the decree of the President of the Russian Federation of September 7, 2010 No. 1099 “On measures to improve the state award system of the Russian Federation”, providing for a mechanism for depriving the honorary title “People’s Artist of the Russian Federation,” it says text of the appeal.
It is noted that it is proposed to deprive artists of titles for the following offenses: propaganda of non-traditional sexual relationships and dissemination of information about them among minors, propaganda of pedophilia, propaganda of extremist or Nazi symbols , calls for action against the territorial integrity of Russia and discrediting the RF Armed Forces.
«Cultural figures awarded the highest honorary title are public figures, and therefore must have increased social and moral responsibility to society, not to mention the inadmissibility of them committing offenses that, although do not constitute a criminal offense, but should not be compatible with their status,” the document also emphasizes.
