Russian Prime Minister arrived in Alma-Ata
Current foreign visit – the first for the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation this year. The Prime Minister will take part in the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and will speak at the plenary session of the International Digital Forum Digital Almaty 2024. Mikhail Mishustin’s visit agenda also includes bilateral negotiations with his colleague from Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov and his colleague from Kazakhstan Alikhan Smailov.
“For us, strengthening relations with brotherly Kazakhstan is of priority importance. It is based on our interaction on the principles of friendship, strategic partnership and alliance of our fraternal peoples,” – Mishustin said at negotiations with his Kazakh counterpart Alikhan Smailov on Thursday in Almaty.
The Prime Minister noted that Russia and Kazakhstan are successfully developing trade and economic cooperation. Despite the difficult situation in the world, in January-November mutual trade turnover amounted to 2.3 trillion rubles, and the accumulated investments of Russian companies in the economy of Kazakhstan reached more than 1.5 trillion rubles.
During the meeting with the Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers — Head of the Kyrgyz Presidential Administration Akylbek Japarov Mikhail Mishustin also emphasized that Russia is the largest investment partner in the Kyrgyz economy.
«It is important that Russian-Kyrgyz interaction and trade and economic cooperation are developing successfully. In January-November last year, mutual trade turnover reached the level of 285 billion rubles. The share of national currencies in interstate settlements exceeded 88%,” – said the prime minister.
Meanwhile, Mishustin recalled that Russia stands for deepening Eurasian economic integration, for the fullest use of its opportunities for the development of national economies and improving the well-being of citizens of all countries – members of the Eurasian Economic Union.
