The CEC will call Nadezhdin to a working group meeting on February 5 to talk about the claims against his signatures

Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Nikolai Bulaev said that errors were found in the signatures of potential presidential candidates Boris Nadezhdin and Sergei Malinkovich. Bulaev’s words are quoted by TASS.

According to Bulaev, in the signatures “there are errors that cause surprise.”

“When there is some inaccuracy in the spelling, the Central Election Commission, at the proposal of the working group, as a rule, does not take it into account, does not count it, but considers that this is acceptable. But when we see dozens and more than a dozen people who are no longer in this world, and they gave a signature, the question arises about the integrity of the ethical standards that are used, including by signature collectors. To some extent, the candidate is directly involved in this,” said the deputy chairman of the Central Election Commission, without specifying the signatures for which candidate we are talking about.

Bulaev proposed inviting Malinkovich and Nadezhdin to a meeting of the CEC working group on February 5 to inform them about the claims against the signatures.

Nadezhdin, in his Telegram channel, in response to Bulaev’s statement, posted photographs of queues of people who came to sign for his nomination. He captioned the pictures: “You and I are more alive than anyone else alive. If someone sees dead souls in my subscription lists, well, friends, these questions are not really directed at me. It’s more like going to church, to an exorcist.”
