In Irkutsk, the concerts of Kristina Orbakaite, which was supposed to be held at the Trud sports palace on March 12, were canceled, this was reported on the Sibkassa website, Siberian Express noted.
As the publication notes, several pro-government activists wrote comments in a telegram from the governor of the Irkutsk region, Igor Kobzev, demanding that the singer’s performance be canceled.
“Igor Ivanovich, tell me why the concert of the daughter of Russian foreign agent Kristina Orbakaite has not yet been canceled in our region? They canceled it all over Russia, including Ulan-Ude, but what do we support?” said one of the appeals. On behalf of the governor's office, the activists were told that the concert would not take place.
Pugacheva is not on the list of “foreign agents” — this status was assigned to her husband Maxim Galkin in September 2022, who openly speaks out against the war. After the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the couple went to live in Israel. Pugacheva supported her husband and appealed to the Ministry of Justice with a request to recognize her as a “foreign agent.”
Orbakaite’s concert, which was supposed to take place on March 7, was also canceled at the Grand Hall Sibir in Krasnoyarsk, this information was confirmed to Kommersant by the agency «Krasbilet»
The singer’s performances in Novosibirsk and Bratsk will also not take place: concert organizer Hovhannes Tukhmanyan told TASS that Orbakaite’s entire Siberian tour had to be cancelled. The Irkutsk Sports Palace told the agency that a football match was scheduled for the date on which Orbakaite was supposed to perform.
In January, activists of the “Combat Brotherhood” movement disrupted the singer’s concert in Ulan-Ude. “People with citizenship of a country that now opposes Russia and starts conflicts, people who live in the United States and go to Russia only to earn money, who have not decided on their position on the SVO, should not continue to give concerts and receive public approval,” — the informers wrote.
