MOSCOW, February 2 Authors of the bill on increase draft age for men with acquired Russian citizenship have withdrawn their signatures, said the first deputy head of the State Duma Committee on Defense, Alexey Zhuravlev.
The day before, he, together with deputies Alexander Boroday and Mikhail Sheremet, introduced a draft document on increasing the draft age to 50 years for those who received Russian citizenship.
This afternoon the last two withdrew their signatures, information about this appeared in the Duma database.
«We are left with the law to develop and include amendments that our colleagues want to make <…> It is proposed to hone the legal formulations, and this is always done with all documents that come to parliament until they will completely suit the majority of deputies,” Zhuravlev explained.
According to him, his colleagues got acquainted and agreed with the existence of such a problem.
Earlier on Friday, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin, commenting on the said bill, said that this issue has not yet been worked out and requires a comprehensive discussion before being introduced into the public space.< br>Currently, the maximum conscription age for those who have received Russian citizenship is 30 years.
