The Russian Investigative Committee will consider several versions of the crash of the Mi-8 helicopter of the North-Western Aviation Rescue Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia.
As reported TASS agency, citing a source in the operational services, among the possible causes of the plane crash are crew error, weather conditions and equipment malfunction.
The helicopter crash occurred during a training flight over Lake Onega in Karelia. The aircraft stopped communicating.
At the time of the incident, there were three people on board.
Later, the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that the helicopter was flown by an experienced crew, whose members had thousands of flight hours, and also has extensive experience in searching and rescuing people.
It was specified that the aircraft fell on the surface of the lake and then went under water. The wreckage of the helicopter was found 11 kilometers from the coast at a depth of up to 50 meters.
