At a meeting of the head of Bashkortostan Radiy Khabirov, dancer Rif Gabitov proposed to honor with a minute of silence the memory of Rifat Dautov, who died after being detained for gathering in Baymak.
Khabirov called this proposal “disgusting and unconscionable,” a video from the meeting was published in telegram channel of the head of the republic.
“Because we must hold a minute of silence for those people who really died for their Motherland, for freedom, and earned the respect of people. What are you proposing with your minute of silence? A person who committed and is accused of a serious crime — organizing mass riots and assault on an employee who had to be taken by special forces, who had a misfortune that no one expected, who died while he was being transported,” says Khabirov.
< p>He added that the results of the first examination indicate that the deceased did not have hematomas. Khabirov did not draw any conclusions from this: “I don’t want to draw parallels at all, look at American history, like one drug addict, what happened after that.”
This probably refers to the death of George Floyd while being detained in Minneapolis, which led to mass protests in the United States. Conservative media subsequently claimed that new autopsy evidence showed that Floyd died due to a drug overdose, but this was refuted. =»mz-publish-context-cite__image» alt=»1″ /> Death after detention and more than 30 arrests. On the day of Alsynov’s sentencing, who was sentenced to 4 years in prison, clashes occurred with the police, after which more than 30 people were detained, including Rifat Dautov. The next day, his parents were called to identify the body. Pro-government channels claimed that Dautov died from poisoning with substitute alcohol.
