
MOSCOW, February 7 Chinese Sinomach decided to change the name of its Oting Paladin SUV for the Russian market: it will be in Cyrillic — “Paladin”, sales of the new product are still planned for February, they reported in the press service of the automaker.
“The Sinomach Automobile company decided that the Oting Paladin car for the Russian market will be called “Paladin” in Russian. This step is aimed at strengthening and developing bilateral cooperation in honor of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Russian Federation and China,” they said in the press service.
«Russia is the first country to which Sinomach Automobile will carry out export operations. Therefore, we decided to write the name of the first car for Russia in Cyrillic,» added the head of the Hyperion Leasing branch (a division of Sinomach Automobile) Ji Ziyuan.
The Paladin SUV is produced on the Nissan Terra platform. The company has signed a corresponding distribution agreement with Zhengzhou Nissan for a period of 5 years. In the version for Russia, the car received a two-liter Mitsubishi 4K31 turbo engine (228 horsepower) and an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission.
Sinomach also emphasized that they plan to introduce two more models under the Oting brand in the Russian Federation in 2024. It is not specified whether the names of the new products will also be in Cyrillic.
