UFA, February 6 Investigative authorities of Bashkortostan have identified the young man who tried to kidnap a girl in Sterlitamak, he will be tested for sanity, reported the Russian Investigative Committee for the region.
Earlier, the department reported that on the afternoon of February 5, a man in the city of Sterlitamak grabbed a 7-year-old girl by the hand and tried to take her in an unknown direction. Her 11-year-old brother stood up for the girl, snatching his sister’s hand from the man. The inadequate young man disappeared, and the children ran home.
It is noted that investigators opened a criminal case under the article of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “kidnapping committed against a known minor.”
“»Investigators and criminologists, together with operatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic, studied CCTV cameras, questioned local residents and other possible eyewitnesses, carried out other investigative actions and operational search activities, as a result, the identity of the suspect was established; he turned out to be an 18-year-old resident of the city Sterlitamak,» the regional investigative committee said in a statement.
The motive of the attacker is being established, a psychological and psychiatric forensic examination is planned, and based on the results of his actions a legal assessment will be given, the department added.
According to local media, the young man’s relatives have already placed him in a psychoneurological clinic.
