«By refusing supplies from Russia, European countries wanted to punish us, but in the end, as in many other areas, they dealt a blow to their own economy,» the politician said during the «Open Dialogue» with the participation of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak.
According to Matvienko, thanks to the competent actions of the Russian government, it was possible to create a promising and friendly geography for the supply of oil, gas and petroleum products. “This includes the Asia-Pacific region, countries of the global South, and others. And some European states quietly, without announcing it, through third or fourth channels, still purchase both oil and gas (from Russia). They just don’t talk about it,” she added. she.
According to the speaker, this work on energy supplies must be continued, given that most countries in the world are interested in developing mutually beneficial cooperation with Russia. Matvienko noted that Russia faces obstacles in logistics, insurance, and the lack of a sufficient number of ships. “We know how to overcome everything, we need to continue to act in the same spirit,” the politician believes.
The senator also noted that the concept for the development of hydrogen energy was adopted, cooperation agreements were signed between the state and a number of our largest companies. “If additional legislative solutions are needed for the development of this industry, senators are ready to get involved,” said Matvienko.
