The 1st Western District Military Court sentenced Karelian student Andrei Vasyurenko to nine years in a maximum security colony, RBC reports. Judging by the card, the verdict was announced on February 5.
As noted, the young man will have to spend the first two and a half years in prison.
Vasyurenko was found guilty of cookingto incitement to treason by going over to the enemy’s side (part 1 of article 30, part 4 of article 33 — article 275 of the Criminal Code) and in declension to terrorism.
According to investigators, the student unsuccessfully “tried to persuade citizens” to participate in the war on the side of Ukraine.

“Now going over to the side of the enemy and participating in a military conflict on the enemy’s side is also treason. That is, this is a composition that is complete from the moment a person directly participates in this act, so it is extremely difficult to catch people.
