TEHRAN, 7 Feb Implementation of the ceasefire agreement in the sector Gaza, if agreed, would be gradual and dependent on Israeli action, said Khaled al-Qaddumi, a spokesman for the Palestinian Hamas movement in Iran.
““The comprehensive vision for the implementation of the agreement is that it will be gradual and will depend on the actions of the other side (Israel — ed.). After all these sacrifices, it is impossible to return to what was before October 7,” said al-Qaddumi .
According to him, statements by the leaders of the Israeli military and political establishment speak of «frivolity and lies aimed at putting pressure on the Palestinian people and disrupting the agreement process.»
«We have presented our response to the proposed ceasefire agreement, taking into account the interests of our Palestinian people and their legitimate rights. We have acted seriously and positively from the very beginning, we are not passionate about warmongering, our main goal is to achieve success for our people gaining their legal rights,” he added.
At the end of January, representatives of Israel, the United States, Egypt and Qatar agreed in Paris on the basis of a new deal for the gradual release of hostages in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian Hamas movement previously announced that it had communicated to Qatar and Egypt a response regarding proposals for a prisoner exchange agreement with Israel, the response was positive. The Israeli foreign intelligence service Mossad, through Qatar, received a response from Hamas about the deal to free hostages in the Gaza Strip, it is being studied, the Israeli Prime Minister's office reported.
