KURGAN, February 6 The Urals are among the leaders in terms of funding for science in Russian regions, said Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev.
“The Sverdlovsk, Chelyabinsk and Tyumen regions have taken leading positions in the country in terms of funding for scientific research,” Patrushev said in Kurgan at a meeting on national security issues in the Ural Federal District (UFD).
The Secretary of the Security Council summed up some results of the implementation of the decisions of a similar meeting last year in Chelyabinsk. Then measures were developed to ensure the technological sovereignty of Russia using the scientific and production potential of the regions of the Ural Federal District.
According to Patrushev, for the implementation of “responsible products and technologies”, the topic of scientific research of youth laboratories of the Ural and West Siberian interregional scientific and educational centers has been formed for the period until 2026, and federal budget funds are provided for their implementation.
A new innovative scientific and technological center has been opened in the city of Surgut in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, and programs for import substitution in the industrial complex have been adopted in the regions of the district, Patrushev added.
«Thanks to government support, the rational use and utilization of production capacity is ensured. As a result, at the end of last year, significant growth in the manufacturing industry was achieved,» he noted.
