MOSCOW, February 8 Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation on Thursday, February 8, will discuss the results of the work of the working group to verify signature lists in support of candidates for the post of President of the Russian Federation, and will also consider issues of registration of Boris Nadezhdin and Sergei Malinkovich as candidates for the presidential elections, follows from the draft agenda of the meeting.
““On the results of the activities of the Working Group to verify signature lists in support of the nomination of candidates for the post of President of the Russian Federation,” says one of the items on the draft agenda.
The CEC also plans to consider issues of registration as candidates of previously nominated applicants. “On consideration of the issue of registering Sergei Aleksandrovich Malinkovich as a candidate for the post of President of the Russian Federation… On consideration of the issue of registering Boris Borisovich Nadezhdin as a candidate for the post of President of the Russian Federation,” the agenda says.
In addition, the Central Election Commission will consider the issue of registering as a candidate self-nominated Anatoly Batashev, who had previously stated that he was refusing further participation in the presidential campaign. And also the question of registering the Russian Rada, which, according to previously presented data from the Central Election Commission, brought 476 signatures in its support instead of the required 300 thousand.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17.
At the moment, the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation has registered four presidential candidates — Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
The Central Election Commission must make a decision on registration or refusal of registration in relation to all candidates no later than February 10.
