Three Muscovite women were arrested in the case of illegal child trafficking

A court in Moscow sent three women to pre-trial detention center, those accused of human trafficking committed by an organized group are reported on the department's telegram channel.

According to investigators, the accused found pregnant women who did not want to keep their children and organized childbirth support, and then they took the newborns and, with the help of forged documents, registered them as their own.

“At the initial stage of the investigation, it was established that one defendant had illegally registered five children, and another had illegally registered six children,” the department notes. “Seven more cases of transactions involving newborns have been identified, in connection with which the actions of the defendants are qualified as committed by an organized group.”

Perhaps two of those arrested are Yulia Loginova and Natalya Patoka — they were previously mentioned by the Investigative Committee as alleged organizers of children's sales. In the case file on the court website, they indicate a different charge, but it could have been reclassified since then.

In November, four fertility doctors were sentenced to 16 to 19.5 years in prison on charges of child trafficking.
