MOSCOW, February 8 Russian President Vladimir Putin congratulated scientists and citizens of the Russian Federation on the Day of Russian Science.
«We traditionally hold a meeting of our Council on the Day of Russian Science. It was erected in honor of the founding of our Academy of Sciences. And today it turns 300 years old. Before starting work, I would like to congratulate both the members of the Council on their professional holiday and on the anniversary of the Academy, as well as all your colleagues, associates, the essence of all Russian scientists, and of course, all our citizens, whose interests science is intended to serve,” he said at a meeting of the Council for Science and Education.
Putin noted that “300 years is such a significant round date,” head state emphasized that the entire scientific and technological sphere is of key importance for achieving national goals, improving the quality of life of people, the security of the country, its sovereignty and self-sufficiency.
