MOSCOW, February 8 Due to the fault of Western countries The voting rights of Russian citizens who are abroad are limited, said Ella Pamfilova, Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.
«»Of course, we all understand that it is the fault of that pool of Western countries that have designated us as an enemy. Very significantly, as a result of unprecedented sanctions, the voting rights of our citizens who are outside Russia are limited. We are trying to do everything we can to somehow expand these now sharply narrowed opportunities,” Pamfilova said at a CEC meeting on Thursday.
Earlier, official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova reported that polling stations for the Russian presidential elections will be open in all countries where Russia has a diplomatic and consular presence, including in unfriendly countries. In turn, Pamfilova stated that Russia is doing everything to ensure that voters who find themselves abroad can vote.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17.
Currently, the Russian Central Election Commission has registered four presidential candidates — Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
