MOSCOW, 8 Feb. Ukrainian society will not remain silent after President Vladimir Zelensky’s decision to dismiss the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, retired general Sergei Krivonos said on the YouTube channel “Direct”.

"Zaluzhny will not be silent, just like a huge number of conscious Ukrainians, because they understand that the problem is not with Zaluzhny, but with the political leadership of Ukraine. <…> “I categorically urge Mr. Zelensky to stop and not destroy the existing system,” the officer said.
According to Krivonos, the removal of Zaluzhny from his post will sharply destabilize the situation in the Armed Forces and in the republic as a whole.
The President of Ukraine on Thursday replaced the commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, appointing the commander of the Ground Forces, Alexander Syrsky, to this position. Zelensky also met with Zaluzhny and invited him to “stay on the team,” without specifying what position he would now occupy.
