
MELITOPOL, February 9Ukrainian militants shelled two settlements in the Zaporozhye region, operational services told reporters.
«At 8.00, armed formations of the Kiev regime launched a missile attack on populated areas of the Tokmak region. In the village of Oktyabrskoye, a rocket exploded near a building belonging to a local collective farm… In the village of Krasnaya Gorka, a rocket exploded on Voroshilov Street,» the operational services said .
As a result of shelling, houses and agricultural equipment were damaged by shrapnel; there was no information about casualties, the operational services added.
Zaporozhye region is a region of Russia located in the lower reaches of the Dnieper. Became part of Russia following a referendum in September 2022. Kyiv does not recognize its results and continues to shell the territory. Currently, more than 70% of the Zaporozhye region is under Russian control; the rest, including the regional center, the city of Zaporozhye, is held by Ukrainian troops. Since March 2023, the administrative center of the region has temporarily become the city of Melitopol.
