The Department of the Investigative Committee for Kalmykia opened a criminal case due to an explosion that occurred on the evening of February 10 at a psychological assistance center in Elista, according to the department’s VKontakte page.
The Investigative Committee did not specify the articles under which the case was opened. The Shot telegram channel writes that we are talking about attempted murder of two or more persons in a generally dangerous manner and illegal possession of explosives (Articles 105 and 222.1 of the Criminal Code).
The day before, a man came to an appointment at the “Alternative” psychological assistance center in an apartment building on Klykova Street and detonated an “unidentified explosive device,” resulting in his death. An employee of the center and her husband were seriously injured; they are in the intensive care unit of the republican hospital.
According to preliminary investigation data, the deceased was registered at a psycho-neurological dispensary. Shot reports the same without citing sources. According to the telegram channel, the explosion was caused by 28-year-old Sergei Danilov, who, during a consultation, quarreled with Namdzhil Yamanova, the founder of the Alternative center and the chief freelance teacher-psychologist of the Ministry of Science of Kalmykia. Shot clarifies that the second victim of the explosion was Yamanova’s husband, German, who came to pick her up from work.
At night, security forces came to search the suspect’s apartment. Another “unidentified substance” exploded there; three employees of the Russian Guard were injured, who carried out “measures to search, neutralize and destroy explosive objects,” the Investigative Committee said. After the second explosion, a case was opened regarding an attempt on the life of security forces (Article 317 of the Criminal Code).
As Baza writes, the second explosion occurred on Rodnikovaya Street during investigative actions; one of the Russian Guards, according to the publication, is in serious condition.
