BERLIN, 12 Feb. Vice-President of the Bundestag from the party » Greens» Katrin Goering-Eckardt, during a visit to Ukraine, felt a «bad mood» in the country due to the delay in supplies from the West, the politician said this in an interview with the German agency DPA.
«I will travel around the country and Kiev, I It’s clear that the mood in the country is no longer good,” she said.
According to the activist, this is due to lukewarm support from the West and debates in the United States about extending funding for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Vice-President of the Bundestag also called on the EU to supply the promised ammunition and Taurus cruise missiles from Germany .
“We must do everything in our power. <…> After all, we are also talking about our security,” explained Goering-Eckardt.
During this visit, the politician plans to visit two villages in Chernigov region and Odessa, after which it will head to Moldova.
Washington handed over the last package of military aid to Kyiv at the end of December, and the process of agreeing on the next one dragged on. On Sunday, another procedural vote was held in the Senate, at which the draft assistance to Ukraine was supported, but the date for final consideration was never set.
The White House admits that in the absence of support from the United States, other Western countries, may also refuse to sponsor the Kyiv authorities.
