At the moment, a “simple” hybrid is available for order. However, by the end of the year the brand promises to launch an all-wheel drive version of the PHEV.
The world premiere of the Renault Rafale cross-coupe took place in the summer of 2023, but the model is only entering the market now: the European offices of the brand have announced prices and opened applications. Moreover, for now the SUV is offered with a reduced range — only two configurations are available to choose from. The line will be expanded only at the end of 2024. But first things first.

Now Europeans can only order the front-wheel drive E-Tech hybrid; the installation includes a 1.2 petrol turbo engine (130 hp) with a starter-generator, a 70-horsepower electric motor and a modest battery with a capacity of 2 kWh. Total output – 200 hp. This Renault Rafale can only start on electric power. It was announced that this version will reach the first “hundred” in 8.9 seconds, the maximum speed is 180 km/h.

The trim levels are called Techno and Esprit Alpine. The list of standard equipment for the crossover includes: 20-inch wheels, adaptive LED headlights, a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel, a multimedia system with a 12-inch tablet, dual-zone climate control, wireless charging for a smartphone, a rear view camera, adaptive cruise control. control, auto braking and lane keeping systems. Renault Rafale Esprit Alpine also has a fully controlled 4Control chassis (available for an additional fee for Techno), black exterior decor, heated front seats, an electric tailgate, assist systems when leaving a parking lot in reverse and monitoring blind spots. Options include a head-up display, seats with “memory” settings and a massager, as well as a Solarbay panoramic roof (without a sliding section), which does not transmit ultraviolet radiation and can itself change the level of transparency.
In France, the Renault Rafale Techno costs 45,000 euros; for the Renault Rafale Esprit Alpine they ask for 49,000 euros. In Spain, where production is established, the coupe will cost less – 43,100 and 47,600 euros, respectively. But in the Netherlands, on the contrary, prices are higher – 47,490 and 51,490 euros. For comparison, the related Renault Austral and Espace brands in their homeland cost between 35,500 and 45,000 euros. If we compare with models of other brands, then, for example, a cross-liftback Peugeot 408 comparable in size in the form of a rechargeable hybrid on the French market will cost at least 45,600 euros, the price of a basic purely gasoline five-door starts at 37,700 euros.

Delivery of 200-horsepower cars to customers will start in the summer, and by the end of this year, Renault promises to launch the Rafale all-wheel drive hybrid (this cross has a separate electric motor on the rear axle), which can be charged from an outlet: the total output of the PHEV variant will be 300 hp. There are no other details about the upcoming modification yet.
