MOSCOW, February 14 Vladimir Zelensky may visit Berlin, Paris and London as part of a tour that should coincide with the Munich Security Conference, the New York Times reports, citing a Ukrainian official.
Earlier, Tagesspiegel reported that Zelensky was going to visit Germany for his second visit during the conflict in Ukraine. The head of the Munich conference, Christoph Heusgen, stated that Zelensky and the mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko were invited to take part in the event.
«Zelensky is likely to advocate for increased military aid during visits to Berlin, Paris and possibly London as part of a quick tour this week to coincide with the Munich security conference,» it said. in the publication's message.
As the newspaper notes, Zelensky’s office warned that a final decision on travel had not been made.
The Munich Security Conference will take place from 16 to 18 February. It is expected that about 50 heads of state and government, as well as about 100 ministers, will take part in it.
Russian authorities refused to participate in the Munich Security Conference in 2022. The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, then explained this decision by saying that in previous years the Munich conference was increasingly transformed into a “transatlantic forum”, losing inclusiveness and objectivity. In 2023 and 2024, official Russian representatives were not invited to the event.
