A court in Moscow arrested the ex-player in absentia «What? Where? When?» Ilya Novikova
In Moscow, a court ruled in absentia to arrest a former lawyer and former player of the TV show “What? Where? When?” Ilya Novikov (included in the register of foreign agents in the Russian Federation).
The reason was a criminal case under the article “about fakes about the RF Armed Forces.”
As a lawyer, Novikov previously defended the Ukrainian serviceman Nadezhda Savchenko and the Ukrainian director Oleg Sentsov, as well as the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK, recognized in the Russian Federation as an extremist organization, a foreign agent and banned), created by Alexei Navalny (included in the register of terrorists and extremists of Rosfinmonitoring).
In 2023, the FSB of the Russian Federation announced on the initiation of a case of treason against Novikov due to participation in hostilities on the side of Ukraine.
