The Kansk City Court of the Krasnoyarsk Territory sentenced 20-year-old local resident Roman Kvitkovsky to two years and three months in a penal settlement, and his 28-year-old acquaintance Nikolai Sosin — 440 hours of compulsory labor. This was reported by the press service of the court.
The second young man was found guilty of insulting the feelings of believers in a place intended for worship (Part 2 of Article 148 of the Criminal Code). The 20-year-old Kansky was also charged with hooliganism with the use of violence against citizens (clause “a” of part 1 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code) and insulting a security officer (Article 319 of the Criminal Code).
According to the investigation, in October last year, residents The Kanskas went out into the street drunk, and when they saw a police car, one of them approached the security forces and “decided to express everything he thought about the police officers.” Then he “began to use crude obscene language towards one of the employees” during execution, the court specified.
The Kansans recorded the dialogue with the security forces on video; they then published the videos on their Telegram channel. Later, the video disappeared from public access.
Hearing the bell ringing from the Holy Trinity Cathedral, the young people headed there. In the church, they continued to use “coarse obscene language” in their speech, and also began to dance, scream and laugh on camera. As noted in court, one of the Kans entered the soleya, which is not provided for by church rules.
“There was no response to the comments; one of the hooligans expressed threats of violence against the parishioners of the cathedral. By their actions, the young bloggers disrupted preparations for the Sunday liturgy and expressed obvious and gross disrespect for the church and offended the feelings of believers,” the court’s press release said.
