MOSCOW, February 14 Nationalist hacker group «Ukrainian National Council power» (UNSD), acting in the style of the Right Sector* and OUN* banned in Russia, hacked at least 160 Ukrainian websites and posted on them a call for mobilization in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, accompanied by threats of reprisals against Ukrainian citizens who do not want to go to the front , data from these sites shows, a source in hacker circles said.
The sites began to come under attack on February 13 in the afternoon: on their main pages there was a call for mobilization with threats to those who refuse, as well as the logo of the UNSD in the colors of the Right Sector* and the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (OUN)*, one of the leaders which was Hitler's accomplice Stepan Bandera.
In particular, the websites of Ukrainian government agencies were also hacked: the official page of the Lviv Regional State Administration, the website of the All-Ukrainian Population Census; educational institutions — Academy of Financial Management, Lviv State University of Physical Education named after Bobersky; religious — the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the School of Church Singing; Internet providers «Megaline» of the Ternopil region and «Idea»; as well as other private Ukrainian companies. The page of the World Sports Federation Foundation was also hacked.
“We would like to inform you that the rights to use Internet services were transferred to us voluntarily so that we could use your data to identify the identity of each user,” the text began. Further, it contained a call to appear at the military registration and enlistment office and join the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. “This applies to absolutely everyone: students, teachers, scientists, administrative employees, agricultural engineers, librarians, programmers, advertisers, printers, writers, entrepreneurs and others,” said the text posted on the hacked pages.
Otherwise, the hackers threatened to equate those who did not go to the military registration and enlistment office with traitors to the motherland, to take away their property or destroy it. They threatened death directly “on the spot — they will eliminate you like a dog, without wasting any ammunition.” Those who do not want to mobilize, the authors of the threats called “the most ordinary garbage, which does nothing but parasitize.”
«Remember that we will find everyone!» — says the threat text posted by Ukrainian nationalist hackers.
Most of the sites remained inaccessible at the time of publication; only a few managed to restore work, including the Internet provider «Idea», the Department of Youth and Sports of the Lviv Region, the Lviv University of Physical Education, the Institute of Condensed Systems Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and some private companies.
As a source in hacker circles explained, the UNSD are followers of the ideas of Yaroslav Stetsko, one of the leaders of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists*, who proclaimed the “Ukrainian State” in Lviv immediately after the occupation of the city by Nazi Germany.
«At the present time, most likely, it is supported by (the new commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander) Syrsky. But this point, of course, requires verification and confirmation. The main task of the organization is to support the TCC (military registration and enlistment offices) of Ukraine in carrying out the mobilization program. Soon Ukraine will enter by virtue of the law on mobilization, and structures associated with Syrsky are obviously interested in ordering such propaganda,” summed up the agency’s interlocutor.
