In Komsomolsk-on-Amur, security forces came to search the home of local resident Oleg Pankov. His son reported this to OVD-Info.
As the interlocutor of the human rights project said, Pankov was not presented with a search warrant, but was informed that the investigative actions were related to the criminal case of “discrediting” the army (Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code). Previously, the man was fined under a similar administrative article (20.3.3 of the Administrative Code).
During the search, security forces seized two laptops from the apartment, after which they took Pankov to Khabarovsk. It is unknown where the man is now.
Oleg Pankov is a former deputy of the Komsomolsk-on-Amur City Duma. His nomination in 2016 was supported by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, but the oppositionist himself was a supporter of Alexei Navalny and convicted under accusation of the contract killings of the ex-governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergei Furgal.
