DONETSK, February 14 The Donetsk People's Republic is ready to conduct presidential elections in the Russian Federation, the head of the republic Denis Pushilin said on Wednesday in the Telegram channel following a meeting with members of election commissions.
«There is only a month left before the start of voting in the presidential elections of the Russian Federation. We in Donbass will be participating in presidential elections for the first time, for us this is a long-awaited event. I met with members of the territorial and precinct election commissions of the republic. Chairman of the DPR election commission Vladimir Vysotsky noted, that everything is ready for elections in the region,” Pushilin wrote. He emphasized that the attitude towards preparations for elections in the republic is as responsible as possible.
«I am sure that with the desire to participate in the presidential elections in Russia, which we see among the residents of the region, the voting will take place at a high level,» the head of the region noted.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17. Four candidates registered by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
