The Khostinsky District Court of Sochi converted 35 million rubles into state income, which were seized from the city’s military commissar Alexander Chukhba. This decision was supported by the Civil Cases Collegium of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Kommersant reports.
The publication, with reference to the court file, writes that we are talking about 15 million rubles, as well as 104 thousand dollars and 146 thousand euros. When converted into rubles, the total amount can be about 35 million rubles.
This money was seized from Chukhba during a search in the case of receiving a bribe for illegal actions (Part 3 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code), attempted abuse of official powers (Part 3 of Article 30; Part 1 of Article 285 of the Criminal Code) and illegal possession or transfer of explosives (part 1 of article 222.1 of the Criminal Code). The case is now under consideration in the Central District Court of Sochi.
According to investigators, in 2022, after the start of the mobilization announced by Vladimir Putin, Chukhba received a bribe in the amount of 100 thousand rubles for actions related to illegal placement and removal a person from military registration, as well as for deferment from service.
The prosecutor's office also considered that the amounts found from the military commissar exceeded what he could have earned over the past three years. According to Chukhba, these are the savings of his brother and daughter. The court did not receive any substantiation for such arguments.
