MOSCOW, February 14 Club of the National Basketball Association (NBA) The Golden State Warriors have made an unsuccessful attempt to acquire Los Angeles Lakers player LeBron James, ESPN reports, citing sources.
In the summer of 2022, James extended his contract with the Lakers for two seasons, for which he will receive $97.1 million. This will make James' total career salary a record in NBA history — $523 million.
It is reported that last week, one day before the league deadline, Golden State owner Joe Lacob approached Lakers owner Jeanie Buss with a proposal to sign James. However, neither the club nor the player himself were ultimately ready to consider this option.
James has represented the Lakers since 2018 and is a four-time NBA champion, two-time Olympic champion, and four-time regular season and playoff MVP. This season, the 39-year-old forward took part in 49 matches, in which he averaged 24.8 points and 7.2 rebounds.
