In the Altai Territory, a case was opened for “desecration of symbols of military glory” because of a snow phallus that schoolchildren made next to the Memorial of Glory in the village of Staroaleiskoye. Baza reported this; Soon, with reference to sources, TASS, NeMoskva Speaks and Siberian Express also wrote about the case.
According to the publications, there are no suspects in the criminal case yet. The Investigative Committee, which previously wrote about the start of a pre-investigation check because of the snow figure, has not yet confirmed this.
The exact qualification is still unknown: TASS writes about simply “the desecration of symbols of military glory” (Part 3 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code), and Baza — about a more serious article about “desecration” on the Internet (Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code). They imply up to three and five years in prison, respectively. Criminal liability under Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code begins at the age of 16.
Altai police named two schoolchildren, 14 and 16 years old, as the authors of the snow figure. They made a phallus out of snow last weekend and destroyed it after posting the photo online. Parents of schoolchildren were subject to reports of improper upbringing of children, which entail a fine of up to 500 rubles (Article 5.35 of the Code of Administrative Offences).
