The Gagarinsky District Court of Moscow arrested actor Alexei Panin in absentia, the joint press service of the capital's courts announced.
Which judge and when made the decision were not disclosed in court.
Usually this information is provided in the court schedule, but in Panin’s case, information about the hearing was hidden and it was not announced in advance. This is a regular practice of Moscow courts.
A case was opened against Panin, who emigrated and condemned the invasion of Ukraine, for justifying terrorism on the Internet (Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code).
According to Mash, the reason for the persecution was a “joyful post” in the actor’s Telegram channel about the explosion on the Crimean Bridge on the morning of October 8, 2022. Then Panin wrote on his social networks that he could not “hide his joy from the fact that Putin’s birthday Ukraine destroyed the Crimean Bridge.”
An explosion on the Crimean Bridge, which killed four people, occurred on October 8. After a strong fire, part of the car crossing collapsed into the water. According to the FSB and the Investigative Committee, the truck explosion on the bridge was organized by Ukrainian military intelligence officers, and the explosive device, hidden in rolls of plastic film, was transported from Odessa through Bulgaria, Armenia and Georgia, substituting documents.
