
MOSCOW, February 16 The Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation has approved the distribution schedule free airtime between candidates for the post of President of the Russian Federation, a corresponding resolution was adopted at a meeting on Friday.
During the presidential elections, airtime will be provided on five all-Russian television channels — Channel One, Rossiya 1, Rossiya 24, TV Center and OTR, as well as on three radio channels — Mayak, Vesti FM , radio «Russia».
«»Airtime was distributed between four candidates and three political parties. According to the law, each television channel and radio channel is provided with seven hours of free airtime. For joint campaign events, 3.5 hours are allocated on each channel, parties on each channel are allocated 2 hours and 20 minutes for a total of three parties, that is, 46 minutes for each,” said Natalya Budarina, secretary of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.
In addition, according to her data, a total of 70 minutes are provided for posting videos of candidates on each channel. The total amount of free airtime on all TV channels will be 35 hours.
«Parties have a total of 11 hours 40 minutes for campaigning, that is, almost 4 hours each, 17.5 hours have been allocated for joint campaign events, a total of almost 6 hours have been allocated for posting videos of four candidates hours,” said Budarina.
Earlier, the head of the Central Election Commission Ella Pamfilova reported that the campaigning of presidential candidates in the media will begin on February 17 and end on March 14.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17.
Four candidates registered by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.
