MOSCOW, 17 Feb. French President Emmanuel Macron’s accusations of Russia’s “aggressive” behavior do not correspond to reality, Senator Grigory Karasin said in a comment to Lente.ru.
“In fact, over the past two years, the behavior of Western countries, primarily the United States and Europe, has been aimed at strangling Russia in all areas,” he said.
As an example, the senator cited sanctions, information blockade and pushing Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to take military action.
“Mr. Macron made a statement that, exactly the opposite, corresponds to reality,” Karasin noted.
Earlier, the head of the Fifth Republic, at a press conference with Zelensky, accused Russia of “increasing the number of zones of destabilization and confrontation, including in Africa and the Middle East.”
In recent years, Russia has announced unprecedented NATO activity on our western borders. The alliance is expanding initiatives and calling it «containment of Russian aggression.» Moscow expresses concern about the buildup of military bloc forces in Europe.
