BUENOS AIRES, February 16 The delegation of Ecuador, which will go to Moscow to discuss the issue of supplying bananas to the Russian Federation, will consist of representatives of business and government, said the head of the Ecuadorian Banana Trade and Export Association (Acorbanec) Richard Salazar.
““The delegation that will go (to Moscow) will consist of representatives of the state and banana exporter associations,” he said.
«»The trip (organized) to strengthen ties of friendship, improve diplomatic and trade relations, to exchange information, criteria and technical aspects about this humpback fly and, in addition, to give a sense of security to our consumers,” added Salazar.
Rosselkhoznadzor in February, concerned about the situation with the supply of bananas from Ecuador, in which the humpback fly was detected, asked the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of the South American state to suspend the certification of five exporters of these fruits.
On Friday, Rosselkhoznadzor returned the right to five companies from Ecuador to supply bananas under guarantees from the Ecuadorian agency, while details regarding the technical part will be discussed. Consultations on phytosanitary safety will be held on February 19.
