MOSCOW, February 19Last year Latvia shipped whiskey to Russia for a record amount of $251.2 million, tripling the other suppliers combined in terms of this indicator, it follows from open statistical data analyzed by .
The Baltic republic accounted for the lion's share of supplies — 73% of the total volume in monetary terms. In second place was Lithuania, which shipped the strong drink for an amount six times less — only $39 million.
Immediately behind it, with volumes 2.6 times more modest than Lithuania, is Great Britain, which supplied whiskey worth $14.8 million. France and Armenia, which took fourth and fifth place respectively, supplied $7 million worth of drinks each.
In total, $344.2 million worth of whiskey was shipped to Russia in 2023. Other than the top five vendors had sales of $24.8 million.
At the same time, among the largest suppliers, Lithuania has most actively increased its supplies, increasing volumes fourfold compared to 2022. The leader in the person of Latvia has also improved quite noticeably: its indicators have increased by 3.5 times. Armenia increased shipments by a modest 5%. On the contrary, Britain and France reduced their supplies — by 23% and 27%, respectively.
At the same time, there were no sensational changes in the list of largest suppliers: the top ten leaders last year consisted of the same countries as in 2022. The only thing is that Lithuania managed to move Britain from second place, and France dropped from third to fourth place over the year.
