MOSCOW, February 19 Early voting in remote areas and hard-to-reach areas, as well as on ships that will be sailing on election day, will begin on February 25, the Central Election Commission recalled in its Telegram channel.
«Members of election commissions will traditionally go to meteorological and polar stations, reindeer herding camps and distant settlements — by helicopters, snowmobiles and even dog sleds,» the message says.
The commission noted that we are talking about a small percentage of voters. Thus, in 2018, about 180 thousand people living in hard-to-reach and remote areas (0.25%) voted early in the presidential elections (0.25%), about 31 thousand voters in 957 polling stations formed on ships at sea (0.04%) .
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17.
Four candidates are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin. December 30, 2023, 11:25 InfographicsRussian presidential elections: stages of the election campaignView
