Rapper Alexander Kazyan, who was included in the list of “banned” artists published by Meduza, announced the cancellation of his concert tour

Rapper Alexander Kazyan (OU74) announced on his VKontakte page the cancellation of concerts.

According to information on the musician’s official website, his performances were scheduled to take place in March in Novosibirsk, Chelyabinsk, St. Petersburg, Moscow and Rostov-on-Don.

“People (the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Culture) came to the sites and “recommended” remove me from the program. My work has always been aimed at inspiring and uniting our society, where Jews, Muslims and Orthodox Christians stand in the same circle and call each other brothers. Obviously, this is contrary to today’s strategy of disunity, when people are simply pitted against each other,” the rapper wrote.

The exact reason for the discontent of security forces and officials is unknown. Kazyan was included in the list of “banned” artists published by Meduza on February 8. Shortly after its publication, four performers mentioned in the publication’s material were removed from the Wild Mint festival lineup. Later it also became known that in Moscow and other cities of Russia the performance of the groups “Put” and “Slot”, also mentioned in the list, was canceled.
