MOSCOW, February 19 Chairman of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova presented the first international observer certificate to Deputy Secretary General of the CIS Ilkhom Nematov, the correspondent reports.
The presentation ceremony took place at the Central Election Commission.
«We are very interested in an honest, open, professional observation and corresponding conclusions. This is also important to us because we have a lot in common — our common history, common borders, we have common approaches taking into account how our countries have developed, so it’s easier to give an objective assessment,” Pamfilova said at a meeting with representatives of the CIS executive committee on Monday.
Pamfilova thanked Nematov for his careful approach to the mission. The head of the CEC said that Nematov handed over an official letter in which the mission asks to prepare detailed answers on a range of systemic issues by March 5.
“It’s worth a lot, namely that people are highly professional and interested,” added the chairman of the Central Election Commission.
The Federation Council has scheduled presidential elections for March 17, 2024. Voting will last three days: March 15, 16 and 17.
Four candidates registered by the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation are vying for the post of head of state: Leonid Slutsky, Nikolai Kharitonov, Vladislav Davankov and Vladimir Putin.December 30, 2023, 11:25 InfographicsRussian presidential elections: stages of the election campaignView
