MOSCOW, February 20 Russian President Vladimir Putin, commenting on the idea of preferential loans for the restoration of historical monuments for tourism, said that it is possible to calculate the costs required for this and propose a solution .
On Tuesday, the president spoke at the Agency for Strategic Initiatives forum “Strong Ideas for New Times.” One of the participants in the plenary session suggested thinking about restoring all abandoned estates in Russia for tourism purposes, while using preferential lending mechanisms.
“Of course, this is all possible. It’s not such a huge amount of money, we need to calculate and propose a solution,” Putin reacted.
The President noted that “any preferential loan is additional budget money,” since the difference between the preferential rate and the bank’s rate must be covered by someone. But, in his opinion, tourists will be interested in such historical places.
«Keeping in mind such an obvious boom in domestic tourism, this will be in demand. And then these preferential loans will pay off,» the president added.
He is confident that the regions also have the necessary lists of cultural heritage sites to carry out such work.
«In fact, if you really organize this work in the way you propose, that is, after such a thorough analysis of what is in the country, in the regions, this is a lot of work, a huge job. But if you start this work and bringing it to a certain level, in general, is not difficult to do,” Putin believes.
