
KRASNODAR, February 21 Law enforcement agencies detained a resident of Novorossiysk who beat and choked an ambulance paramedic who responded to a call.
“»In the fact of causing bodily harm to an emergency medical service employee, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs in Novorossiysk is conducting an inspection and a forensic medical examination has been appointed. At the scene of the brawl, medical assistance was provided by police officers who arrived in time and detained the rowdy. City Hospital No. 1 of Novorossiysk said that the incident occurred last weekend. In the very center of Novorossiysk, passers-by called an ambulance for a man because he complained of pain in his leg, and he behaved aggressively.
«A medical team arrived on call. The paramedic invited the man into the car. It was necessary to cut the trouser leg to examine the leg. But the patient reacted unpredictably: he grabbed the doctor’s neck and began to beat and choke him. The paramedic managed to wriggle free and ran out of the car, and the patient remained in the cabin and barricaded himself,” the hospital said.
«The police, having arrived at the scene, calmed the rowdy man. And the paramedic was taken to the emergency room with a broken wrist bone,» the medical institution noted. The medical employee is on sick leave, as the injured arm is very swollen, the agency’s interlocutor added.
