YAKUTSK, February 22 An emergency shutdown of the Central boiler house occurred at minus 45 degrees in the village of Batagai in Yakutia, reports the press service of the main department of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region.
“Information was received that in the Verkhoyansk region, a rupture occurred in the heating system pipeline of the Central boiler house in the village of Batagai as a result of deterioration of the material. A coolant leak was observed from the damaged area. The operation of the boiler house was stopped. Management bodies and forces of the Moscow Region Batagai» of the Verkhoyansk RSChS unit has been put into the «Increased readiness» operating mode, the press service said.
It is noted that diesel heat guns are installed in schools and other social facilities, and electric heaters are installed in residential buildings to prevent freezing.
Local authorities organized a warning to the population. Together with the republican firefighters and rescuers, a door-to-door inspection is being carried out.
“»The State Unitary Enterprise Housing and Public Utilities dismantled the damaged section of the heating main, welding work was completed. Filling the pipeline with coolant began. There are no defrosted objects, no complaints were received from the population,» added the head office of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to weather forecasters, in the village of Batagai, Verkhoyansk region, minus 45 degrees was recorded on Thursday.
In turn, the State Unitary Enterprise «Housing and Communal Services» of the republic reported that the boiler room started working at 9.00 (local time), the heating networks were launched.
