RYAZAN, February 22 A criminal case for improper performance of duties by a teacher was opened in Vladimir following the beating of a schoolchild by a teacher in class, reported the RF SUSK for the Vladimir region.
The video appeared on social networks on Thursday. The footage shows the man punching the boy several times. The prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee began inspections. The city administration informed that the teacher was fired.
“An investigator from the Russian Investigative Committee opened a criminal case into the use of violence against a student at a school in Vladimir,” it says in the SUSC Telegram channel.
It is clarified that the case was initiated on the basis of a crime under Article 156 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (improper performance of duties for the education of a minor by a teacher, if this act is associated with cruel treatment of a minor).
According to preliminary data, the incident occurred on Wednesday during an English lesson. The teacher “due to the student’s failure to comply with discipline, born in 2010, used violence against him, including striking him several times.”
