The series “Alice Can’t Wait” directed by Natalia Meshchaninova was removed from Russian video services at the request of Roskomnadzor. Vedomosti drew attention to this.
As the publication writes, the series was created with the support of the Start online cinema. Representatives of the company, in a conversation with Vedomosti, confirmed information about the demand to delete the series. According to the RKN notice, “certain violations” were revealed in some episodes of the series, due to which it had to be removed from the sites.
A Start representative did not say what specific violations we are talking about. “Given the clarifications we have, we were forced to hide the series for viewing on our platform, as well as on other video services where it was available through a partner subscription,” he added.
The series premiered in October 2022. By that time, “Alice Can’t Wait” received a distribution certificate for showing in online cinemas and the “18+” label. The series follows the life of teenager Alice, who suddenly learns that in a few years she will go blind, while the girl's mother hides this information from her. The heroine decides to quit school and go to the big city, and in order to get money for this, she enters into a contract to sell her virginity. This plan seems simple at first glance, but then Alice faces many difficulties that force her to rethink what is happening.
