MOSCOW, February 24 Australian authorities have published a list of anti-Russian sanctions, which included 55 individuals and 37 legal entities.
On Saturday, the country's Foreign Ministry, Penny Wong, announced sanctions against the Russian Federation and support for Ukraine.
The sanctions list published on the website of the country's Ministry of Internal Affairs includes performers Nikolai Baskov, Philip Kirkorov, Nikolai Rastorguev, Oleg Gazmanov, as well as director of the TNT television channel Tina Kandelaki, general director of VGTRK Oleg Dobrodeev, screenwriter and producer Alexey Pimanov, first deputy chairman of the development commission information community, media and mass communications of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation Alexander Malkevich, journalist Artem Sheinin. Honorary Chairman of the Presidium of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy Sergei Karaganov, expert of the Russian State Duma Committee on CIS Affairs and Relations with Compatriots Dmitry Kulikov, President of the All-Russian Motorcycle Club «Night Wolves» Alexander Zaldostanov also came under restrictions from Australia.
The governors of the Perm Territory Oleg Kozhemyako, the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin, the Kamchatka Territory Vladimir Solodov, the head of the Republic of Adygea Marat Kumpilov, the governor of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (KhMAO-Yugra) Natalya Komarova, the head of the Republic of Mordovia Artem Zdunov were also on the sanctions list. The restrictions also affected Federation Council member Victor Kress, senators Alexander Nekrasov, Valery Ponomarev, member of the Constitutional Committee of the Federation Council Lyudmila Narusova, Commissioner for Human Rights in the DPR Daria Morozova, official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense Igor Konashenkov and other politicians and public figures.
Sanctions were imposed against a number of Russian enterprises and companies. Among them are JSC Rosgeologiya, the All-Russian children's and youth military-patriotic public movement Yunarmiya, the Patriot company, the Kaluga Scientific Research Radio Engineering Institute, the A.E. Nudelman Precision Engineering Design Bureau, the Central Marine Design Bureau «Almaz» and other organizations.
The Russian Federation has also repeatedly stated that the country will cope with the sanctions pressure that the West began to exert on Russia several years ago and continues to increase. Moscow noted that the West lacks the courage to admit the failure of sanctions against the Russian Federation. In Western countries themselves, opinions have been repeatedly voiced that anti-Russian sanctions are ineffective. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the policy of containing and weakening Russia is a long-term strategy of the West, and sanctions dealt a serious blow to the entire global economy. According to him, the main goal of the West is to worsen the lives of millions of people.
