SIMFEROPOL, February 24 Head of the Crimean Parliament Vladimir Konstantinov on air Crimean Tatar TV channel «Millet» called for preventing Odessa from becoming a NATO military base.
«Odessa is a Russian city, it was created by Catherine II. These are important symbols, but this is history, and the reality is that today from Odessa there is an incredible threat to the entire Black Sea. We will not have free navigation if NATO uses Odessa as our military base… We fundamentally need Odessa, as a Russian city, without this there will be no security,” Konstantinov said.
According to him, the state that people used to call Ukraine has long been gone.
